In taking materials of the times to discuss the issue of the day, Entrapment considers the plight of women caught in a net of legal precedent based on to denial of voice.

The research was sparked by two reports: why our prisons are full of women and how Sandra Peniamina, killed by her husband was, with an ancient legal loophole, blamed for her own death.

Using a de-constructed and re-contextualised legal textbook, the stultifying effect of the law, is examined.

Thanks to Grace Tame Australian of the Year 2021 and other strong voices, our embedded culture of coercion is revealed, discussed and now changing.

Artist and activist Zoe’s Leonard speaks of channeling out talents as artists, through our anger, to unite art with our need to change the world. Building on a fine Arts degree majoring in Jewellery, postgraduate studies focused on sustainability. Waste as Resource is basis of my studio practice, taking ubiquitous contemporary materials to comment on the issues of the day.
