Exhibitor Responsibilities and Sonder Studio Gallery responsibilities

ALL EXHIBITORS Transport the artworks to and from Sonder Studio Gallery. Deliver all artwork for the exhibition on the date specified of the installation (bump-in) week.

ALL EXHIBITORS Collection (or transport) of the artwork is to be arranged at the end of the exhibition period by the specified (bump-out) date. Note: Sonder Studio Gallery will not be held responsible for artwork that is not collected within the time-frame specified. Sonder Studio Gallery has minimal capacity to store your artwork for a short period of time. However, prompt collection is preferable.

ALL EXHIBITORS You must have your own insurance for the works in transit and for the duration of the exhibition. The gallery does not take responsibility for uninsured artwork or products.

ALL EXHIBITORS Prepare your artwork for display. 2D artworks must have D rings.

PRIVATE HIRE EXHIBITOR Install and de-mount own work (when privately hiring the gallery).

SONDER Curate, install artworks for social enterprise community exhibitions.

PRIVATE HIRE EXHIBITOR Arrange the design, printing and distribution of the exhibition invitation, posters and promotional material, using the Sonder Studio Gallery format (for private exhibitions).

SONDER To design, distribute and promote invitations, posters, media releases and other promotional material of artworks submitted for community exhibitions, electronically, on social media and in print.

ALL EXHIBITORS COMMUNITY EXHIBITIONS Agree to Sonder Studio Gallery using any artwork submitted on the application form or delivered electronically for exhibition or promotional purposes.

ALL EXHIBITORS COMMUNITY EXHIBITIONS Agree to Sonder Studio Gallery selling artworks through the online store or via sponsorship. Unless otherwise agreed.

ALL EXHIBITORS Clearly label each artwork, physically submitted, on the back with the artist’s name; the title; retail price; size in cm W X H and medium used.

ALL EXHIBITORS Provide a list of all artworks. This list must include title; medium, dimensions and retail sale price (if works are for sale).

PRIVATE HIRE EXHIBITOR Pay the gallery hire fee one month prior to the installation of your exhibition.

ALL NON INDIGENOUS EXHIBITORS The retail sale price must include Sonder Studio Gallery’s commission of 25% (including GST where applicable).

INDIGENOUS EXHIBITORS Do not pay commission. Indigenous artists are not exempt from a payment processing fee and any and all costs incurred by Sonder Studio Gallery will be passed on to all exhibitors.

ALL NON INDIGENOUS EXHIBITORS Non-Indigenous artists do not pay a gallery hiring fee during social enterprise community exhibitions but do pay 25% commission. Ambassadors do not pay commission or gallery hiring fee during community exhibitions.

SONDER will offer at least one free solo private exhibition to an Indigenous artist, per year. This will usually be offered to one of Sonder Studio Gallery’s Indigenous Ambassador’s. Sonder will offer one free solo exhibition to all other non-Indigenous Ambassadors. The duration of each exhibition will be 10 days plus bump in and bump out times. All exhibiting Ambassadors must have been actively contributing to the gallery for at least 6 months, including contribution to the organisation of their target group community exhibition.

PRIVATE HIRE EXHIBITOR Hold an opening event (optional), to launch the exhibition. Normally this is held on the first Saturday of the exhibition at 6pm – 10pm. Catering for the opening event is the responsibility of the exhibitor for privately hired gallery exhibitions. However, Sonder Studio Gallery may be able to arrange catering and alcohol bar for the event at a cost.

SONDER Hold and opening event to launch the social enterprise community exhibition. Catering, bar, entertainment will be subject to funding available.

SONDER For social enterprise community exhibitions Sonder is responsible for the following: opening and closing the gallery each day, processing sales and guiding visitors around the exhibition, minding the exhibition or working as artist in residence in the gallery during opening hours. The current opening hours for the gallery during social enterprise community exhibitions are 10am - 4pm on Thursday to Sunday.

PRIVATE HIRE EXHIBITOR is responsible for the following: opening and closing the gallery each day, processing sales using Sonder Studio Gallery system, guiding visitors around the exhibition, minding the exhibition or working as artist in residence in the gallery during opening hours. The current opening hours for the gallery during social enterprise community exhibitions are 10am - 4pm on Thursday to Sunday. Privately hired exhibitions can open at other times as negotiated with Sonder Studio Gallery.

SONDER Provide payment for any artworks sold within 30 days after the exhibition closes.

ALL EXHIBITORS - Complete and sign an agreement form. By submitting the form exhibitors agree to participate in the exhibition and abide by the terms and conditions.
