‘Bird Eye View’

2018.

Hand carved unique print on cotton paper.

60 x 50cm

$500.

This work processes the power, beauty and magic of the Blue Mountrains of NSW. In this unique ecosystem from the top of the cliffs one has the feeling to swim above a vast sea before getting immersed in an undergrowth of organic and mineral details.

During my art residency there, I challenged myself to render the vastitude of the place and its infinity of details with the minimum amount of lines and colours. Not surprisingly, I was drawn towards the format of monochrome blue which subconsciously brought me close to Delft cobalt blue porcelain tiles and kimono designs.

‘Portal’

2018.

Hand carved unique print on cotton paper.

105 x 75cm.

$900.

Portal is a metaphorical work about tearing the veil and seeing the future through the opening. The muslin cloth of our present times is tearing. It has been too long that womankind has been hidden under some kind of physical, emotional and psychological cotton veils.

Organic (de)Composition’

2017.

Hand carved unique print on cotton paper.

77 x 103cm.

$900.

A patchwork is traditionally assigned to feminine expression and medium. However Organic (de)Composition is a “faux” patchwork of hundred leaves assembled by nature. The work is gender neutral as instead of a needle and a thread I use a physical carving tool to etch the surface of the print.
