This painting tells the story of three generations of women in a family and tribe. I was inspired by the idea that when a grandmother is pregnant with her daughter, she has already developed all the eggs that will ever become her grandchildren. It's amazing to think that we all started our lives inside of our grandmothers. I really wanted to depict that strong connection of the 3 generations of women and all the knowledge and wisdom and medicine that is passed down through those generations and the vital role of our mothers and grandmothers in our families, tribes and wider communities.
