This artwork is symbolic of corroboree. Depicting our strong connection to country and celebrating all that Country provides. The cyanotype was made exposing plants from our property and the ochres which decorate the cyanotype are from the creek running through our property and the figures are made of clay also found in our crek. The weaving around the outside depicts time, creation and connection to Country. The shape of the work depicts the bora ring where ceremony took place, where everyone is equal and included. The Night Calls is a story, a visual documentation of feeling and essence. It can be interpreted in many ways, and I invite you to consider what this piece feels/says/shows you. This is mine: The Night Calls - calls us to listen, to remember, to feel. The night calls the secrets. Secrets of being, secrets of our journey - of where we are from and where we can go. The visions in the night are different to the day calling us to use more of our other senses. The Night Calls are haunting in the darkness, guiding us to the light - a light that only shines bright in the dark of night.

Her Journey The power of the earth’s natural environment is resilient yet so elusive. If it’s not cared for, listened to, nurtured, it can dissolve and die away. The same can be said for the human spirit. When we recognise the spirit of our earth, our Country is part of us; our journey through life, life becomes purposeful and enlightened. A short walk from my home, you can lose sight of man’s footprint. Here I witness the rejuvenation of nature; my spirit is strengthened from it. The plants, trees, soil, rocks, the birds, insects, reptiles and animals inspire me and drive me to create. Through a process of observation and spiritual connection, I borrow from my wanderings, take photos, do drawings and this evolves with my art practice. This piece resembles a journey of life and spirit and connection to nature and Country.

Sea Turtles have become threatened by the invasion of plastics (and many other man-made threats) in the ocean - their home.

In this piece I’ve positioned 3 sea turtles swimming, each looking to the next turtle in a never-ending cycle of doubt searching for answers and trying to determine who will fix this problem.

Their world is beautiful and vibrant but won’t stay that way without change of the growing problem of human dominance and invasion.

Social Distance was a new part of our time and this artwork was created

(He didn’t spear it, it was just something he saw while fishing)

I live on a property where I can walk away from my house and within a short distance and time I am fully immersed in the natural environment and can no longer see anything manmade. I like to do this regularly and spend time listening, watching, observing and reflecting on the magic of life. This lifts my spirit and rejuvenates my soul. That’s what Rejuvenation is about.

Knowing our history is good for your soul. Through my artwork, I continue the search to capture the feeling of being immersed in our natural environment and how it can develop us spiritually as well as physically. I've included Aboriginal Elder Minnie Mace in this piece as a tribute to my gratitude of all that she has shared and continues to share about culture. In her company there is always conversation of culture and belonging, our connection to our Country, the history of our nation and moving forward together as one. The intention of my artwork is to pay tribute to our natural world and remind us all to slow down to reconnect with nature and our ancestors.

Fireflies depend on their own light to attract other fireflies and reproduce and because of this they are sensitive to environmental levels of light consequently to light pollution. This artwork is my imaginings of these fascinating insects as they would light up the forest around them while they dance through the night to attract each other.
