'Totems Speaking'

Acrylic on canvas and posca pens.

50cm x 60cm

I use the oceans floor as a safe place for me to connect and think. I imagine swimming amongst the Yarwan (mantaray) and they teaching me how to navigate through life. The knowledge and protection that guides me and my family this totem is a gift from the ancestors. I believe moving with the waters brings more peacefulness.

$1200

Intuitive painting based around the happier moments of my life and memories that I’ve shared and made. The journeys I had been on in the pass and recent times that a very significant to me that I hold close to my heart have kept me going throughout life to lead me where I am today. Each dot is an emotion, each line is a path, each circle is a meeting place, each colour tone is stages of joy. The 3 images were created around the different areas on the coast. A view from my prospective. Earthy tones and abstract placement and touches of colour. The importance of connection to land is captured form a birds eye view, the intention behind these digital prints is to show case the beauty of the Sunshine Coast in a contemporary Indigenous way.
